Consumer Reports gives thumb's down to iPhone 4 Washington (AFP) July 12, 2010 - Consumer Reports, the influential magazine for product reviews, gave the thumb's down Monday to Apple's new iPhone because of reception problems it said were caused by a design flaw.
Which do you think are the best?

I'm looking for the following;
-great quality pictures
-GREAT zoom
-good size, i'd like something pretty small, not too bulky and huge, and not like the really small, purse size ones..
-good price obviously
-GREAT battery life..this is important. i do NOT want to change the batteries every 20mins

so far, i think the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 is good because it has 10x optical zoom, and its smaller than the rest. i just dont know about the battery life etc. so HELP!!

Based on your criteria I would narrow it down to one of the following two cameras -

Olympus SP-550 UZ Because Olympus is one of the most experienced camera makers for very compact cameras (dating back to the 1950's when no one else could make them as small as Olympus), with great optics. For power it uses "AA" batteries. You can buy a rechargeable set of Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries (NiMH) with charger for about $25-35 and should get very long life with them. I have an older Olympus camera and can use it for a week or two of snap shooting without replacing a set of the batteries. If the batteries run down you can just pop in regular AA Alkaline batteries for shooting while the rechargeable batteries are on the charger.

The other choice that would be good is the one you are leaning towards the Panazonic DMC-TZ3. It comes with a Lithium Ion battery that is the gold standard of rechargeable batteries right now and you can buy a spare battery so you can charge onw while you use the other. Plus Leica makes some of the best optics in the world.
